Hi I'm Jacob

I'm a Mormon. And I wouldn't have it any other way.

About Me

I'm definitely a people person! I love to hang out with my friends and have fun. I love my family and am very close to them! I have four sisters and two brothers and an awesome Mom and Dad! I have a lot of hobbies and sports that I play, but my main interests right now are riding dirt bikes with my friends and metalworking. I love riding the windy and rocky trails of the New Mexico mountains as well as the sandy desert hill climbs. I had two dirt bikes and a sport bike but I recently got rid of a dirt bike and the sport bike so I can pay for school (Education is important!). So as of now I am left with my 1995 Honda Cr500 which I occasionally use to ride with friends. I am a Blacksmith and I specialize mostly in ornamental ironwork, but I do like to make knives as well. I have been working with metal for over 9 years now and I love it. Sports I like to do include indoor soccer, as well as regular outdoor soccer, golf, football, basketball, tennis, motocross/trail riding, and disk golf. I am a mechanic, so I love working on cars and my bikes and may turn it into a profession after I go to school. I plan on pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering. I am currently a construction Worker in NM. I served God as a full time missionary in the Nebraska Omaha Mission for 2 years full time. It was one of the greatest experiences of my life!

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church, but I am still a convert. I never took the church seriously until a few years ago. That's when I finally realized that my religion was not just a religion, but a way of life. I hit a few rough patches in my early years but wasn't happy and knew I needed to make some changes. So, I did just that. I changed for the better by going to Jesus Christ and have never regretted it since. It has made me happier than I ever thought I could be. Changing to bring my life more in line with the teachings of Jesus Christ has been the best choice I've ever made. He saved my life and brought me peace and comfort that I never knew was there and that I never imagined would be possible to attain. Everything in life has begun to make more sense to me. Through studying the scriptures and while learning by the Spirit of God and progressing in the restored Gospel, I have come to gain a greater understanding for life and the mysteries of it... and it all clicks together one puzzle piece at a time. Never has my understanding of God and his plan for us here on earth the purpose of life, and of our Savior Jesus Christ, been as great as it is now. And I owe that to the Church that Jesus Christ has restored to the earth and is now running through modern Prophets in this day and age. I can honestly say that I know The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the one true church, and I am extremely grateful that I am a member of it. It has been a huge blessing to my family as well as myself! I know that Jesus Christ lives and that he is the Savior of the world and all mankind. By and through his Atoning sacrifice we can be saved, but only if we go to him and do what he says. I know by the power of the spirit of God that Joseph Smith was called to be a prophet and that he did in very deed see God the Eternal Father and His Son Jesus Christ. He did a great work and that work carries on today through modern-day prophets and apostles who are called by God!

How I live my faith

Just like any other Latter-day Saint I follow the example of Jesus Christ by doing the things that he would do if he were here. I.E., Loving others, sharing the gospel, etc... I love doing service for others and I am always there for my friends and family. I even offer a shoulder to lean on to those I don't know. All in all I live my Faith with Hope and Charity. My Faith in Jesus Christ motivates me to act. To do good things in the world and to be my very best. I have a Hope that doing these good things will yield good results and make the world a better place. Charity is required in all of this. I'm not speaking so much of charitable acts or charitable donations. I am speaking of charity as the attribute defined in scripture. "And charity suffereth long, and is kind, and envieth not, and is not puffed up, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil, and rejoiceth not in iniquity but rejoiceth in the truth, beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things." Moroni 7:45 The world would be a much better place if everyone looked at each other through the eyes of God.
