Hi I'm Jonathan

I grew up in the United States. I sing in a Barbershop chorus. I am a United States Marine. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up going church, both parents active and holding callings. As a kid I participated in community sports. I went to good old Public Schools all my life, Always doing enough to get by and stand out as a person but never excell. Church wise I did Scouting, As well as everything they had available to us. I have great Memories from all of it, yet I struggled for a little part of my life. In my decision though I never turned from the lord. I served a mission, eventhough it may not have been a full one. I have enjoyed Doing musicals these past couple years as well as just working in life. whenever I am busy I find happiness. Not the kind of busy where you have no time, just anxiously engaged in a good cause. I have spent these past few years fixing my life and coming closer to god. I am now a member of the United States Marine Corps. I love it!

Why I am a Mormon

I am asked all the time this simple question, "why are you a mormon?" It is simple because I know the lord loves me! I may have been a member all of my life but that doesn't mean I don't know for myself. I have heard the message of the Restoration, I have read the Book of Mormon, and I have prayed to know if my Savior is really there. There has not been just one moment in my life that has converted me, it is the culmination of all the lord has done for me. The answering of my questions, the comfort I have recieved through his atonement during my struggles, The joy I feel when I am doing exactly what he has taught. The men he has called to lead us are men of god, when hearing there words you can feel the power of god. Other marines I run into day by day, think that I am crazy. How can I be when there are over 14 million other members who know the exact same thing! When we truly become "As a Child" and come to the lord we will not be able to doubt him. I know the Lord lives! I know that through pray we can talk to him! I know that the Bible and the Book of Mormon is the Word of God! I know this because, I have pondered it in my heart, I have taken what I was taught, and I have Prayed to my Lord and Savior! In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen!

How I live my faith

Through my initial parts of training for the military I have had to relocate often. Before I move I look up the the church leaders in the new area and give them a call to find out all the information I need about the church there. For military members the church has called Senior Missionaries to serve as liasions for us. So the give me rides to events as well on sundays take me to church. I in turn Assist them in holding church service for other Military members on other bases. I am the 2nd Sunday teacher, Therefore every 2nd Sunday I teach the lesson. It is a great opportunity that allows me to touch others lives with the words I speak, so I prepare diligently my lesson so the spirit can help in any way possible. We plan Activities and invite or friends. In my everyday life I don't hide the fact of who I am or what I believe because, it speaks out in my actions, my choices, my values, my character.

How can I find someone to talk with, in person, about the Mormon religion?
