Hi I'm Steve

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a father of five and grandfather of six. My greatest joy are the gatherings of our children and their families especially at times of birthdays and holidays. I enjoy other times with the grandchildren especially when I can spend one on one time with each, which my wife and I try to do on their birthdays. They enjoy doing most anything with us, especially games, riding motorcycles, working in the yard and building "things".

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon by heritage. My great-great grandparents were converted by the early missionaries of the church in various foreign lands who then immigrated to the United States to be with other members of the church gathering to Salt Lake City in the mid nineteenth century. I am appreciative of their faith and try to continue to follow their example. I feel that the gospel of Jesus Christ teaches us to have the kind of faith to live a better life and I want our grandchildren to develop that kind of faith in Jesus Christ as our forefathers.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith through service to others. I feel that providing meaningful service to others is a way of showing my love for my Father in Heaven by helping his children, just as I would appreciate others helping my own children in their times of need. One way I do this is by participating in service projects at our Church fruit orchard where there are countless volunteer hours spent by many in thinning the new fruit from the trees in the spring and summer and then harvesting the ripened fruit in the late summer and fall. We, as volunteers, then assist in the canning of the fruit at one of the Church's local cannerys where it is preserved and packaged for shipment. The fruit is sent all around the world where there might be need for this food item. This is just one small way I feel I can be a part of something to help those who are in need who I might not otherwise be able to help.
