Hi I'm Lauren Ward

I'm a Tennessee Mormon. I believe in living a happy life at all costs and keeping family close and God even closer.

About Me

I am a college student, a wife, a daughter, a sister and friend. My husband and I both share a love for the arts. We are both studying to make an influence in the art world. Art is a bridge that can connect people of different faiths and backgrounds. We hope to be able to help build many bridges as we live our lives.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon. I don't think it was ever a choice in my mind. It was something that I wanted. I remember my 8th birthday. It was a day full of presents, cake, ice cream, friends and family. But the feeling I associate with my 8th birthday is that of warmth, comfort and knowledge. Though I was 8 I knew that my want of becoming a member of Jesus Christ's church came with responsibilities. I knew that in order to feel warmth and comfort I needed to continually choose the right. Becoming a mormon is wanting to become a person willing to change to become the person Heavenly Father knows you can be. It's not easy but you are not alone. God is with you. He knows your struggles. His arms are open ready for you to turn around and face him. I am Mormon because I want to be what Heavenly Father knows I can be-- a daughter of God, a wife, a friend, a mother, a teacher. I know that when I live a life center upon Christ that I will be able to obtain many blessings. I know that The Church of Jesus Christ is the Lord's church. It is the way we can be with him again.

How I live my faith

My husband and I are privileged to work with the youth of our church. Every sunday we teach the 12 year old boys and girls. It is an exciting time in their lives and we are so lucky to be apart of it. Our students are a light in our life because of their strong desires to serve the Lord. It has been a beautiful experience being the teachers and gaining the perspective of teacher. Teaching the youth has recalled my memories of being 12 and listening to my teachers. I looked up to my teachers at that age. Through this experience I have come to realize the importance of teachers. We have a huge responsibility to be roll models for out class. They need adults with strong moral foundations to lead and guide them. What a wonderful blessing this teaching opportunity has been in our lives!

What is being a Mormon like?

Lauren Ward
Joy. That sums it up. I still have struggles and problems. I still have those days when I feel down but when I feel joy I know where it come from. I know it is from keeping the commandments. Being a mormon comes with responsibilities but those responsibilities come with everlasting blessings. Blessings that will carry into the eternities. Show more Show less
