Hi I'm Liz

I live in Southern California. I'm a teacher. I'm single and loving it, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Logan, Utah; lived in Anaheim, California for 5 years and now I am living in suburban China. I studied English Lit in college and then spent 6 months teaching English in Taiwan (which I am in LOVE with). I now teach oral English in China. I love my life right now as a single teacher, but the one thing I want most for the future is to be a wife and mother. I sometimes feel silly admitting this to people (especially those who think that career is more important than anything).

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised as a Mormon. I had a testimony that Jesus was my savior and that God loved me. Sadly, once I got out on my own it was hard to keep living the standards of the church. My activity and faith wavered. My life was in a place that I didn't like and I wanted everything to change. I knew the only way that would happen was through God. I began going to church again, praying and reading the scriptures. My life moved into that place that I wanted it to be. Now I am happy again, and I know that it is though the grace of God and the teachings of his true church. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live because of my faith and it keeps me going through trials and helps me to stay humble during times of blessing. I believe strongly in personal revalation. I try to stay faithfull so that God can direct my life and lead me into good places. One example is how I became a teacher. I was feeling a little unsure of what to do with my life after college.I litterally stumbeld on a job opening at a small school. It was a job I never would have thought to apply for let alone take but I felt God's influence through the whole process amd followed it. Now I have been teaching for more several years and I love it. I have found my true calling and have also been inspired to make new goals. I want to one day open my own school, and I know that I never would have found this out about myself if God hadn't led me into the job I have now.

What is a ward/stake/branch?

Liz
It is the local organization of the church and it is organized geographically. More importantly it is a "family" of people who share your faith, love to serve, and are ready to love you. I know I can travel to most anywhere in the world and find a "home" where I will fit ina find love and safety. Show more Show less
