Hi I'm Lateshia

I am Native American but I speak spanish, I love to travel and meet people and learn new things, I live in Alaska and I'm Mormon.

About Me

I love to travel and learn new things. I currently live in Alaska but would like to see more of the world. Because I speak Spanish I would like to learn French, Italian and Portuguese.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church not knowing what i believed so i put it to the test, I studied the Book of Mormon, I prayed about it and listened to the missionary lessons. My answer did not come over night, but over a long period of time and I came to know that Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world and that God is our Loving Heavenly Father. Later i was called to serve a Spanish speaking mission and that became more of a confirmation to me of what i know to be true. When you put God first in your life then everything else falls into place. Life may not always be easy and nice, but I remember the saying that "this to shall pass" whether we are having a good time or a hard time, it doesn't last. I have learned to take the time to enjoy the good and look forward to the hard times because they only make me stronger. Obedience is extremely important in my life because through personal experience, I know that commandments and "rules" only help us be free to express ourselves, expand our horizons and opens doors to endless possibilities. I am doing my best to pattern my life after the savior the best I know how. Why do I do it? Because I can't think of a better way to live my life.

How I live my faith

I enjoyed being a missionary soo much that I have applied different aspects of it into my life, the schedule of going to bed and getting up, studying and planning out my day. I would even set time apart to help out the missionaries by inviting friends over to have dinner with the missionaries. Since I've been home, I've had the joy of seeing 3 friends get baptized in the church! I have been told they've learned so much and have found something to fill the empty space in their lives they didn't know they had! Ever hear the saying Live what you Preach? Well, I like to think that is exactly what I'm doing, we talk about being Honest, True, Chaste and Benevolent, and that is exactly what i try to do and BE. I love the Teachings of Jesus Christ and learning more about the plan our Heavenly Father has for us, because of the things we know there is no reason we need to keep it to ourselves!

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

Lateshia
The message we share is for everyone, the whole world in fact, that is why there are Missionaries all over the world sharing the message that we know God has a plan for us, and we know what that plan is! We can come to know more about our Father in Heaven by praying and listening to what the missionaries have to share. We LEARN by DOING, so this is the invitation for all the world to learn about who God is, and our relationship with him and how we can grow in that relationship. You get to know someone by TALKING with them, so PRAY and get to know your Heavenly Father. We are Children of a Loving Heavenly Father, we are here on this earth to learn and grow, when we die, we'll return to live with him again, and not only that, but the families we have now can be with us FOREVER! not just until "death do you part", but for much, much longer than that.
