Hi I'm Rachel

I am the mother of 5 children and 4 grandchildren. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My greatest joy is my family, I love every minute I have with them. I am the 3rd oldest in a family of 12 children. My mother and most of my siblings live nearby and I treasure anytime and all the time we have together. I have 68 nieces and nephews My children and grandchildren also live near, I could not be happier. I also enjoy the outdoors, especially my garden. My kids say I live there during the growing season and maybe I do. I love to grow fruits and vegetables then preserve them for my family to enjoy all year. I live in beautiful Northwest Arkansas among the friendliest people on earth.

Why I am a Mormon

I know God hears and answers my prayers. I love Him and want to do His will. When I read the scriptures I feel a closeness to Him that is both comforting and reasuring. In a world of uncertainty, fear and confusion I know God will direct me to truth through His living prophet. Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is a great blessing. I have been a member my whole life. People ask me, "when did you know it was true?' I have always had a deep and sure testimony of the truthfulness of the Church and of its Doctrine. Every expirence of have had in my life reasures me of its truth. I love the scriptures and find peace in studying from the words of prophets in the Old and New Testament. The Book of Mormon is a treasure to me. I feel a closness to my Heavenly Father everytime read from its pages. I am a Mormon because I know being a member and living the Gospel of Jesus Christ will bring me and my family the greatest happiness in this life.

How I live my faith

I think being a Mormon is who we are and not so much what we do. My faith affects everything I do and how I live my life. I have had responsibilities throughout my life in the Church that have helped to stretch and mold me into a better person. I want to be more like the Savior and follow His perfect example. He was not selfish or proud, He was humble and loving. These are charateristics I want to have. As I read the scriptures, pray and attend Church meetings I learn about Him, learn to follow Him and be more like Him. When I serve in the Chruch and accept responsibilities I begin to understand through my service and experiences how I can have these charateristics. I am currently serving as a public affairs representative in my area. This gives me many opportunities to serve my community and share with others the values, beliefs and principles of the Church. I believe we are all children of God and He loves us.
