Hi I'm Mike

I'm a Mormon. Christ is my Savior.

About Me

I love to be outdoors when I can. I was fortunate to be part of a good Boy Scout troop that helped me learn a lot about the outdoors and about life in general. I was able, with the help of many others, to earn my Eagle Scout. I just recently graduated from school and am currently working as a Physician Assistant.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents met Mormon missionaries about 2 years before I was born and joined the Church. I was raised, therefore, in a Mormon family and attended Church every Sunday. But, like every person on earth, I had to find out for myself what my beliefs would be as I entered adolescence and adulthood. I received a personal witness that I had a Father in Heaven who loves me when I was quite young. However, there were many other things that I was not so sure about. My testimony of this Church came many steps at a time. It was during my first year of college, having moved out of my parents' home, that I came to have a real and personal testimony of the Book of Mormon. I stand by Joseph Smith in declaring that it is the keystone of our religion, and a man will get closer to God by abiding by its precepts than by any other book. It has brought me closer to Christ and testifies of the veracity of this latter-day work.

How I live my faith

I owe so much to my parents who taught me discipline and consistancy in following the teachings of Jesus Christ. Now as a young adult, I continue to attend church every Sunday and to partake of the sacrament of my Lord. I try to keep the Sabbath day holy by not listening to popular music, shopping, or viewing/participating in sporting events. More important is what I DO on the Sabbath day. After I attend church, I make it a point to visit those whose heads may be hanging low. I sing in my church choir. I write letters to family members or missionaries. I read scriptures and the words of modern Prophets and Apostles. Besides just on Sundays, I live my faith every day by reading my scriptures and praying. I strive to treat others as Christ would treat them. I strive to live the laws of the land. I want my life, more than my words, to testify of my Savior and the man that the Atonement is making me.
