Hi I'm Ben

I'm a sunburned Mormon in Arizona

About Me

I'm a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, serving in the Arizona Tucson Mission. The place I call home is Orem, Utah. Before that, I've lived in Boise, Idaho and was born in Huntsville, Alabama. I'm serving here in the Tucson Mission until February of 2013.

Why I am a Mormon

I've grown up as a member of this wonderful church, but I fell away as a teenager a bit. My parents got divorced when I was 15, and it was a nasty divorce. That rocked my world a bit, and it took me a few years to recover. But the church has been the only way I've found true peace and healing feelings there's no way to do it completely on your own. We all have a loving Heavenly Father, and we would be stupid to refuse his help and to try and live life on our own. By being a member of this church, it brings me joy that is not possible anywhere else on this planet.

How I live my faith

I'm a missionary, spreading the good word to the people of Arizona. As a missionary, I am expected to live up to the highest standards of the Gospel. If I didn't live such a high standard, it would be impossible for me to be an effective teacher!

What does Mormonism teach regarding baptism?

Proper Baptism by full immersion is essential for anyone who wants to completely follow the example of Jesus Christ. Like John the Baptist, baptism by the proper authority, or power is the only way for it to be valid. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has that sacred authority, the same authority that Jesus Christ was baptized by. Show more Show less
