Hi I'm Dirk

I'm a Dad, Husband, want to be Farmer and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I'm a Dad, Husband, want to be farmer and late bloomer in most all things I do and learn. I enjoy Gardening and spending time with my wife and kids. With over 20 years in the financial industry, I hope so some day turn my career towards serving and helping kids with Type 1 diabetes. With three sons, I'm very active in boy scouting. I also love studying family history and discovering where my ancestors lived and liked. Most of all - I enjoy serving other people and being the answer to someone's prayer.

Why I am a Mormon

I've always been a deep thinker with challenges communicating my thoughts into words. The concept of living life and aging through it awoke me one day while standing over my grand fathers grave. I remember being at the grave site as a child with my father - but years later I now stood there as the father and my father was now the grand father - I'm so lucky to still have my father - but the realization of a generation shift caused me to pause and ponder life on a larger scale. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints provided answered many of my questions in a way that I was not expecting - the concept of eternity, service and consecration filled voids in my life that were very satisfying to me. From my perspective, the question one needs to ask oneself stems from the concept of "a church" vs "The Church". I know without a doubt the Church of Jesus Christ is the true and restored Church of our Savior Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

The Church is a 100% lay ministry. Each member plays a critical and vital part to meeting the needs of the congregation. I currently work with 12 and 13 year old young men in the scouting organization teaching them to be Trustworthy, Loyal, Helpful, Friendly, Kind, Obedient, Cheerful, Thrifty, Clean, Brave and Reverent! I live my faith one day at a time!
