Hi I'm Caleb

I play music. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love music. I play every instrument I can get my hands on. Not very well, mind you, but I love it. I studied Physics for two years in college, with an emphasis on musical acoustics, and I plan to teach physics or run a recording studio after I graduate. I also love people. I am serving a full-time mission in the Philadelphia, PA area. I am bringing the gospel of Jesus Christ to the people here because it has brought great light to my life, and I know it can do the same for everyone else. I am the second of seven children, and I love my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it makes me happy. I have found the greatest happiness in my life by following the teachings of Christ found in the Bible and the Book of Mormon and revealed through his prophets on the earth today. I am a Mormon because this gospel is true. I have tried it for myself and asked God if it was right, and through this trial I have gained a testimony of the truth of it.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by striving to be like Christ. I try to keep my life aligned with what he would have me do. This involves responsibilities such as watching over specific members in my community to give them any help they need and give them encouragement, spreading the gospel in my community, and planning activities for my ward.

Why do Mormons perform baptisms for the dead?

Caleb
In order to get back to live with our Heavenly Father again, we must be baptized by someone holding the proper authority from God. God loves all of his children, and he has provided a way for those who have died without baptism to come back to him, through the work of another. We perform baptisms for the dead to give those who have died the chance to get back to our Heavenly Father.  Show more Show less

How are the activities of the Mormon missionaries funded?

Caleb
Mormon missionaries share the gospel because they know it's true and they want to share the joy they have found in it with others. All missionaries are strictly volunteer, and they pay their own way. Family members can also, and often do, help out with expenses. Show more Show less

What is the Law of Chastity?

Caleb
The law of chastity is a commandment given for our protection that tells us we should not have sexual relations of any kind outside of marriage between a man and a woman. This means that we should not have sexual relations before we are married, and we should be completely faithful to our spouse after marriage. This commandment keeps us from emotionally damaging ourselves. There are so many single-parent homes, broken families, and much heartache out there as a result of disregarding this commandment.
