Hi I'm Tavia

I grew up in Canada. I love volleyball and figure skating. I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

About Me

I recently came home from Germany where I was an au-pair for fourteen months. I currently work in Beautiful British Columbia as a nanny. I love music and I currently am learning the violin. I play the piano, oboe, and I love to sing. I also have a love for figure skating and volleyball.

Why I am a Mormon

I choose to be in this Church. I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because the power of the Holy Ghost has showed me that this is the church that has the complete truth and happiness. I grew up in a Christian home with my single mom, but visited my dad and step-mom who are Jewish in the US. I am so blessed to have such an extensive background of the Savior's love for His children. When I went to university I asked a Mormon girl if I could go to church with her and then I began to meet with the missionaries. I sought out whether the teachings were true, whether or not this is Jesus Christ's church restored today. I received an answer through the Holy Ghost that the Book of Mormon was the word of God. I knew that I wanted to follow Jesus Christ's example and be baptized. I knew that baptism was an essential ordinance for salvation and that it needed to be done with the power and authority of God. It was difficult to tell my family because I love them a lot, but I did because I know that being honest and true is important. I walked around the temple one afternoon before I was baptized and I just felt at home, it was unlike anything I had ever experienced. As I let the Spirit work through me these new ideas and beliefs became my own and I was ready to make my commitment to Heavenly Father in baptism!

How I live my faith

I choose to live righteously and make good decisions. I choose to be happy and have eternal joy. In my ward I am a ward missionary. I work with other missionaries to find people to teach and to encourage others in their faith. I am also in the choir. I choose to dress modestly, smile, and listen to music. I love my prophet and I love my church. I love my Savior.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

No. We believe that everyone of is a child of God. We are brother and sisters and strive to treat each other accordingly. We find opportunities to serve in our community. We believe that God can use us to help care for and answer the prayers of His beloved children. As a church we strive to support countries who need relief and aid.
