Hi I'm Jared

I am an educator, a surfer, and a Mormon

About Me

I enjoy the outdoors, especially the ocean, and love my family. I feel strongly about the importance of education and strive to bring higher education to people throughout the world.

Why I am a Mormon

I believe we are God's children and that he loves us and guides us today as he did in past generations. I believe in Jesus Christ. The Book of Mormon has helped me to know him. Finally, my many experiences in the Church have shown me that this is God's true church, He does speak through a modern prophet, and God the Father and his Son did appear to Joseph Smith.

How I live my faith

I have four children and know that I must raise them in a society filled with immorality, materialism, and violence. The greatest blessing I have experienced have been in the walls of my own home. As we read scriptures, pray, worship at church, and play together I see strong bonds forming in our family and with God. These strong spiritual relationships give me courage. I know that my children can live lives filled with faith, joy, and build strong bonds with their Father in Heaven.

What do Mormons believe about the nature of God?

We believe in the nature of God as taught in the scriptures and as evidenced by the appearance of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ to Joseph Smith. From the Nicene Creed onward many have tried to reconcile the philosophies of men and scripture. We believe that when Jesus prayed, he was not praying to himself. That, when He said that he came to do the will of the Father, that Father is an actual being. Finally, that when the scriptures speak of Jesus Christ and the Father as being one, it is unity of purpose as taught in John 1711 as he prayed for his disciples, "that they may be one, as we are."  Show more Show less
