Hi I'm Mauricio

I was born in El Salvador, I live in the United States of America, I am a husband, a father, a teacher. I am a mormon

About Me

I am a husband and a father. I migrated to the United States, learned English my first language is Spanish. I have a bachelor degree and a master degree, and now I work as a high school teacher. I love the outdoors. Whe my children were younger we went camping at least once a year as a family and once a year to a boy scout camp. I also like riding the bike and body surf. My other passion is reading. I have read lots of books, mostly in Spanish

Why I am a Mormon

The Gospel of Jesus Christ is a very important part in my life. It has shaped my character and gives me guide and comfort through happy and challanging times. I have a testimony that Jesus is my savior, and through his attonement I am saved. I believe The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints teaches the gospel of Jesus as he stablished it in his ministry on earth

How I live my faith

I love serving others because when we do that we are in the service of God. I advise young people, newlyweds, couples with young or teenage children, My family is my number one priority, after God, and we read the scriptures and pray every day. We also meet once a week, usually on a monday evening, to learn about the gospel of have a fun activity, or just play a board game.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

We are encougared to serve missions, but it is not required in any way or form. I served a mission in Costa Rica. One of my sons is serving his mission in Paraguay. It is one of the most powerful experinces a young man or woman can have. Being able to serve others, to share the gospel and the happiness it brings our lives is a life changing experience. It is a privilege to serve a mission. Show more Show less
