Hi I'm Tim Durr

I love my family, Church, and wilderness survival skills. I live by the Scout motto "Be Prepared." I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a retired collision repair specialist. I restore classic cars. I also worked for a utility company and now I am employed as a substitute teacher at a high school. I am also a tennis coach and a trip bus driver. I've been a member of the Church all my life and I am from pioneer heritage. I have a wonderful wife of 42 years. We have 3 children and 11 grandchildren. I have been a scoutmaster for 37 years. We do a Mountain Man program for the local Boy Scout Council. I am also the Training Chairman for Three Rivers Council. I have been Lion's Club President and a member of the Lion's Club for about 15 years. I am a Survival Specialist where I teach flint-knapping (the art of making ancient stone artifacts), bow-making, and trapping. I have received many awards in scouting two being the Silver Beaver Award and Vigil Honor Member of the Order of the Arrow. All in all I enjoy Mother Nature, camping, hiking, bicycling, mountain biking, marathon running, and traveling with my wife.

Why I am a Mormon

I was fortunate enough to be born into the Church. Thanks to the heritage of my ancestors and reading and studying for myself, the Spirit confirmed to me that the Church is true. My testimony has helped me to stay on the right path, in making right choices through prayer and faith. I know that Jesus is the Christ, and that we have Heavenly Parents who love us dearly. And, through the Church and it's saving ordinances we will be able to live as an eternal forever. I know that Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon through the power of God. I know that we have prophets today as we did in the ancient times and through their teachings and modern-day scripture we will be able to endure to the end.

How I live my faith

I love serving in the Church. I have had the opportunity to serve in various leadership positions in the Church. I have the responsibility of looking after several families in our local congregation. I also help in the youth programs, including church youth camps. I enjoy reading the scriptures with my wife daily. It helps me spiritually when I have problems and I need the Lord's counsel.
