Hi I'm Michael

I love outdoor activities like hunting, fishing, camping and all sports like football and wrestling. And I'm a Mormon

About Me

HI, I grew up with an wonderful family in a place called Meadow Utah, out in the country. I am currently serving as a full time missionary in Northern Virginia serving and helping people. I love just about any wholesome activity. I'm a country boy so i spent a lot of time in the mountains and desert, doing all sorts of fun stuff in Utah while I was growing up. One of my favorite things to do is Camping. I would spend days with my uncle up in the mountains making forts, playing games, exploring and rock climbing. We would also go out to the Lava caves and explore many hidden caves, and then find a good spot to set up camp. When we get tired we would just relax sitting around a campfire or by a stream fishing or sleeping. I enjoy all sports sports!! I enjoy the competition and I love to try new things. I have played Football, Wrestling, Baseball, Track and Fields and many other sports. I always love a good game and I love just having fun with my friends and family. I love building houses, wood working, or any out door physical work that I can look back at all the progress I have done. It gives me a sense of fulfillment. That love for work is helping me to always strive to do what's right and to be the best follower of Christ that I can be.

Why I am a Mormon

The reason why I still belong to the Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter day Saints is because of my testimony of it and the experiences I have been through. I have had my own special witness in many ways and at different times. I have felt my Father's approval and his love every time I pray. He is there for me at all times and He can tell me the truth of all things if I am willing to listen. I know that through Jesus Christ we can find strength in all things. I have felt his helping hand and the comforting spirit when I have prayed before each wrestling match. I would have quit if it wasn't for the teachings of the Church and for the power of prayer. The more I read the scriptures and listen to the servants of God, his prophet and apostles, the clearer everything gets. Its like a puzzle, at first it is not very clear on what the picture is, but the more pieces I put together the clearer it is, and the easier it is to live after the manner of Christ and include Christ's Atonement and Sacrifice in my life. This is what the church teaches. We also we invite everyone to "Come and see for yourself." I am a Mormon because I have taken the challenge of trying it and asking God if it is true and he has answered my prayers.

How I live my faith

How I live my faith is the same as how my Parents have taught me to live. They taught me that when I mess up I find comfort in knowing that I can turn to my Savior and repent and turn away from my sins. Doing this brings me closer to my Eternal Father and in turn closer to my family and friends. This is the most important thing I will ever do. Doing what our Savior taught with all my heart will strengthen my faith and bring peace and comfort to me and my family. Going to church on the Sabbath is something that I grew to enjoy. It’s a place where I can feel peace and learn how to live like my savior throughout the week. Church gets us ready to go to the Temple were we can feel the presence of our Father in Heaven. It is a place of piece and comfort. The Temple is a house God. This is the place my family was joined together, not just till death, but for all time and all eternity. It’s a place were I learn the most about my heavenly father’s plan for me. By going to these sacred places I show my Heavenly Father that I love him and he in return helps me and blesses me in many ways. Others ways I live my faith include praying to my Father in Heaven with thanks and with all my heart. It helps me focus on the blessings of God. When I pray, it makes life a lot easier to cope with and a whole lot enjoyable. Praying makes my burdens seem lighter, because my savior is lifting that which I need help lifting. When I pray I feel stronger. All in all, the more I live my faith the easier it is to live the faith and the more faith I receive. The more faith I have closer I become to my Savior and his Atonement. The closer I am to my Savior the closer I am to my Father in Heaven and the happier I am. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the only way to be truly happy, and it helps me with everything I do. Doing all these helps me to be able to follow my Savior and serve and help others. And that is how I strive to live my faith.

Where did Mormonism and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints begin?

The "Mormon" church is just a nick name given to The Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints. The Church or the Gospel of God began on this earth with Adam from the beginning. The word was taught by God's Holy Prophets through out all time. When Christ came to the earth, to be a savior for all man kind, he set up his church the way it needed to be and he fulfilled the Law of Moses. The Later Day Saints' church is the same church that Christ set up about 2000 years ago before his death. So the organization of this Church began when Jesus Christ came and set up his twelve apostles and brought back the priesthood and the Keys of the Kingdom of God. But because of persecution Christ and his Apostles were martyred and the members of the church were persecuted until very precious truths of the gospel were lost or changed. However, the work of God cannot be stopped and, in 1820 He called a young man by the name of Joseph Smith to be his servant that would restore that very same church that Christ set up. In these Latter Days, the Church was organized under the direction of the Jesus Christ through Joseph Smith. It has now grown to a family thoughout the world. Show more Show less
