Hi I'm Phillip D White

I'm a Member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

About Me

I was born in Oklahoma and raised mostly by my grandparents on a beautiful farm. I spent growing up time in Texas, New Mexico and Arizona. I raised dairy cattle in Texas to help me through college, but cut schooling short to join the US Navy, where I spent 4 years active and 2 years inactive. I have been an electrician for nearly 40 years and have retired and went back to work to help my family be self sufficient. I am currently serving the Lord as a member of the Stake Sunday School presidency, music chairman in our ward and music director as well. I have served the Lord in music all my church membership since 1973. I sing in the stake choir, ward choir and love singing in duets, trios, quartets and even do a solo once in a while. I am married to a wonderful woman and have grown children and many grandchildren. The Lord has blessed me greatly.

Why I am a Mormon

Before I became a member of the LDS church I had the overwhelming feeling that my life was missing something important. The church I grew up in, the Church of Christ, a non-denominational religion and for the most part un-organized, was a big part of my life. I was baptized when I was 12 years old. I felt the spirit of that occasion, however, I felt something was amiss. The Bible and only the Bible was my scripture, however, there were so many translations from everyone about the truth of what I read. My parents, my extended family, the preachers, my Sunday school teachers and everyone else in the church had their own translations of what was true and what was not. I had a great faith in Jesus Christ even then, but still something was missing. One day in 1973 I let the LDS missionaries into my life and they began teaching me. I began building my testimony about the truthfulness of the "complete" gospel as they taught me. Everyone in the LDS church believed the same and taught the same no matter what congregation I went to. The afore mentioned contraditions began to disappear and I found that the Book of Mormon, the Doctrine and Covenants and the Pearl of Great Price went hand in hand with the Bible especially as it had been translated correctly by the Prophet Joseph Smith. I found that the early church was the same as is presently organized in the LDS church with a Prophet, Apostles, the Priesthood, teachers and evangilists and missionaries. No matter where in the world one goes to church, whatever stake whatever ward or branch, the gospel is true and the same everywhere. I love the gospel, I love the Lord and I know I am a child of God and I am guided by the Holy Ghost every moment of my life as imperfect as it is. I know The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is indeed the Lord's true church on this earth. I know that we have a true and living prophet of God directing this magnificent church. I am so thankful to be a member of the Lord's church and a bearer of the Holy Priesthood of God. I pray that those reading this will feel the spirit and have a desire to know more about the gospel according to Jesus Christ as testified in the Book of Mormon. Moroni 104 And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost.

How I live my faith

I am president of our local community club, which is a non-profit organization approved by the state and federal government. The club has been organized to help the families of our community who are in need of help in their families and we provide a place for the families to enjoy activities at a very low cost. We also provide food for the less fortunate. In the church I serve the Lord in music and teaching the gospel in our stake. My daily life includes individual and family prayer and fulfilling my various callings in the church. I am guided by the Holy Ghost every day of my life, as long as I remain faithful and keep the commandments of God and do my best to shun evil. I know I am not perfect by any means and sin daily, but I also know that through the power of prayer and repentance I can still enjoy the fruits of the gospel all the days of my life. I am so grateful for the gospel in my life.
