Hi I'm Eric.

I'm a student at a university. I hope to become a professional historian. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm currently a college student majoring in history and secondary education. I want to be a history professor someday. I love reading, learning, and hanging out with my friends. I also love singing.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church, and like most Mormon children, I was baptized at the age of eight. Since then, I had always believed in Jesus Christ, that He was my Savior, that Joseph Smith was His Prophet, and that the Holy Bible and the Book of Mormon were the Word of God. However, I wasn't always sure. I truly believe, however, that everyone in this Church, whether they were born into it or whether they convert, comes to a point where they have to find out for themselves. For me, that point came at the age of 19. Through some very personal experiences, I finally came to know for myself, beyond any reasonable doubt, that Jesus Christ was the Son of God, and that He had suffered and died to save all of humankind including me from sin, from sorrow, and ultimately from death. By the same process, I came to know that Joseph Smith really was a Prophet of the Lord Jesus Christ, and that the Holy Bible and the Book of Mormon are the Word of God. That knowledge has never left me. To this day, I know that God lives, that He still speaks to us through living Prophets and through scripture, and, most important of all, that Jesus Christ is His Son, and the Savior of the world.

How I live my faith

In the New Testament, Jesus tells us repeatedly that we are to love each other and serve each other. This is a teaching which I have tried very hard to emulate in my own life. As a missionary, I not only worked to spread the Gospel, but I also helped people to overcome problems or concerns that they had, including addiction problems, emotional problems, and other issues. I always try to help other people who may be in need in any way that I can. At the same time, I try to give other people the benefit of the doubt and avoid judging them, which is another of Christ's commandments in the New Testament. I try to be kind to everyone I meet. I try to read and study the scriptures on a daily basis, and I pray every day. Most of all, I try to live my life in such a way as to express my gratitude to Jesus Christ, my Lord and my Savior, for the sacrifice He made for me.
