Hi I'm Stuart Adams

I'm a graduate student in plant science. I'm a part-owner of a fruit tree nursery in Washington. I'm a mormon

About Me

My name is Stuart Adams I was born in the small town Ephrata Washington. There I was raised on a fruit tree farm, and was privileged to work there every summer. I spent two years in Sydney Australia as a representative for the church teaching people about Jesus Christ and his gospel. I'm currently a graduate student studying plant science in preparation for returning to the family fruit tree nursery. I really enjoy music and playing the drums, a hobby i gained from my mother. I also really enjoy running and all that falls under the net of outdoors activities, namely camping, hiking, backpacking, fishing.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I was born into the church, I feel really strongly that every member has to gain his or her own beliefs about what is true. There was a point when i was younger that i was challenged to read the Book of Mormon and ask God in prayer to know if it was true. As I prayed about the Book of Mormon, a feeling that I will never forget came over me. There really is no way to explain it other than having come from God. It was such a powerful feeling that made me know that it was true. I could have asked God anything about what I had been taught by my parents and the feeling I would get confirmed it all to me. It was a feeling that made me calm, yet really happy. I can't say I was always perfect from that point on, but as I've gotten a little older I have had experiences that have continued to strengthen the things that I know to be true. I have gained such a great love for my Father in Heaven and His son Jesus Christ. I continue be a Mormon because I have peace about this life. I know where I came from, why I am here, and where I can go after this life. Whenever bad things happen, I can take a step back and look at the problem through the teachings of Jesus Christ and his representatives on earth today, and find comfort in knowing what i should do.

How I live my faith

I really enjoy giving service. I feel that this is one of the main messages Jesus Christ had for his disciples, so I try to follow his example in my life. Some of my greatest moments have been when I forget all about myself and help others. They feel good that they got help, and I feel good that I was able to be the help. I also really enjoy reading my scriptures. I find that I learn so much and am strengthened from reading the Bible and Book of Mormon over and over again. It's in reading the scriptures that i get a lot of ideas or promptings on what I need to do in my life.
