Hi I'm Jaime

I grew up in North Carolina. Now I'm a full time mom. I'm a wife, I'm a crafter and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was raised in North Carolina and I think it's one of the prettiest places on earth! In college I studied Sociology. After graduating I landed my first job in social worker. I had no idea what that meant but I quickly developed a passion for helping people. This passion kept me in the field until I gave birth to my first child in the fall of 2013. I am grateful I can still help people when I serve at church. I love being a mother. The joy my baby girl has brought into my life is unmeasurable. My husband and I talk about it often. When I'm not caring for our daughter I enjoy training for my first 10K run, reading, crafting and being creative. Keeping in touch with my family is important since they are spread out across the country so I try to text, call and email them weekly. I think of my sisters sand parents as my best friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I remember the first time I realized I was Mormon. I was five years old and for some reason my Kindergarten teacher was asking us which church we went to. I knew I went to church every Sunday but I couldn't recall the name of our church. I raised my hand when one of the other churches were named because I wanted the teacher to know I attended. When I got home, I asked my mom which church we belonged to. She told me that we belonged to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. When she said that, I felt the Spirit confirm the truth of it to me. Since then, I have made it my goal to never deny the Lord's true church. I have come to grow in the gospel of Christ. I have read the Book of Mormon, I've prayed to Heavenly Father to know if it is true and I have felt a witness that it is. I have learned to love the Lord, my Redeemer, Jesus Christ. I have leaned on Him in times of sorrow and He has guided me. I'm a Mormon because I have acted upon the Holy Ghost's whisperings to me that this church is true.

How I live my faith

Right now I work to help people in my congregation to gain employment. This assignment is a great chance for me to help others and I enjoy the ways it makes me think and stretch creatively. Relying on The Lord for insight is vital for me and those I am helping, because we need His help and guidance.
