Hi I'm Jenise!

I'm a mother, a graphic designer, a Floridian, a gamer, and a great driver. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Florida. I earned a BFA in Graphic Design. I studied abroad in Switzerland and am now a chocolate snob. I first learned to draw through drawing anime when I was young. I am married to my best friend. We are very secure in our peculiarities. We also share a dislike for peas. We recently had the most gorgeous little boy to ever grace this planet. He is so very wonderful. We are confident he will also dislike peas. I believe in being politically informed and involved, but do not subscribe to any political party. I will not be pigeonholed. I love movies and musicals. I play World of Warcraft. I am a great cook and baker, but I do not enjoy washing dishes. I am afraid of the dark. I have a jacket/coat fetish and I collect thimbles. I tend to dance in public places. I have never had a ticket despite my lead foot. I get anxiously animated about silly things, e.g., my husband bought me an Xbox media remote for Valentine's Day. Whoo-hoo!!

Why I am a Mormon

I believe because this is a church of answers. I have always believed that Heavenly Father never meant to be "unknowable." He wants us to know him and his nature. He wants us to draw near to him. When I've asked questions, never have I heard in this Church, "We are not meant to understand," or, "You shouldn't ask that." In this Church, if I ask a question and someone doesn't know the answer, it becomes their mission to find someone who does or to search the scriptures for the answer. This Gospel fosters learning and does not discourage questions. I am a Mormon because I choose to believe. I choose to see hope in the face of despair. I choose faith over wandering purposelessness. I am not perfect, but the principles the Gospel have given me purpose, self-value, and hope. I believe because I have felt the Holy Spirit testify to me the truth. I have witnessed miracles. And this Gospel has changed my life for the better. Most of all, it just makes sense! It is so simple that a child can understand it. Every piece fits together. After all, if God is a god of order than should not His Church be a orderly as well?

How I live my faith

I do my best to be "an example of a believer." I strive to share the gospel with those around me. I try to build up those who are struggling or lost. I endeavor to be patient and loving to those who have chosen different paths than myself. We are all God's children. Therefore, I believe in treating everyone with the respect that a child of God deserves.
