Hi I'm Lori

I grew up in Utah. I backpack, kayak, watch soccer, and square dance, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife, mother, and grandmother of 4. I love the out of doors, especially anything having to do with the mountains. I enjoy exercising, trying new recipes, and reading mysteries, but most of all, I love to spend time with my family and friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised as a member of the Mormon church, but mostly went along with it because that is what my family did. As a teenager, I started questioning my existence and all that I had been taught as far as our faith was concerned. So, I decided to experiment with life and find my own way. As I fell further away from what I had been taught, I became more unhappy and confused. I remember one night feeling so discouraged and frustrated that I decided to pray. I spent quit a bit of time on my knees, and had the thought that I should seek help from a man from our area to find answers. I went to him, and because of a conversation with him, I suddenly began to feel of our Heavenly Father's love for me, and that I was of worth. I began searching for times that I could feel that peace and love at other times in my life, and found myself experiencing those feelings as I submerged myself in the Mormon faith. It was a long road of discovery for me, but every time I took a step towards living what the Mormon faith taught, I felt great joy and peace, an assurance that God loved me, and confidence that I was on the right path. Many years have passed since that night when I prayed and started on my journey, but I know now more than ever that this is the truth, and where I belong. My life is far from perfect, but I have great peace, joy, and hope because of my belief in the Mormon faith, and I am grateful every day that I have found this truth in my life.

How I live my faith

I am blessed to be able to work with the wonderful youth of our church. I love seeing them develop their own sense of who they are, and watching them as they find out for themselves that God loves them. I am always strengthened by being around young people that stand for truth and righteousness, and that are not afraid to stand up for their values and beliefs.
