Hi I'm Kara

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a part time student and a full time adventure seeking, fun, wild, caring, cooking, dancing, green-thumbed hippy. I am the only member of the church in my family so far. I am trying to figure out what I need to do to make the most out of my life. I always to try to look at the bright side of things, being grateful for my family, friends, country, freedom and health. I know that were every I am supposed to be, will be where I will go.

Why I am a Mormon

When I look around at the world we live in I know that we are not here by accident. We're children of Heavenly Parents who love us. I've faith in God's plan for us. We're here to learn and grow and prepare to live with God again. I'm so grateful to know the purpose of my life and to have an eternal goal that I'm striving towards. This church is the true in all things and is the light in my life. When I was 12 years old my 2 friends invited me to church. Slowly, I started attending church on Sundays as well as youth activities and dances. I was going though a hard time at this point. As my involvement in the church grew, I found myself, the person who I was desperate to be but had held back to "fit in" with the rest of my peers at school. The members of this church that I've become friends with, have been some of my strongest supporters over the years. Before I was ever baptized, I realized the importance of the gospel standards that my 2 friends taught me. I was uncomfortable doing the little things that I knew I shouldn't be doing.  All of my friends in the church helped and still help support each other to make good decisions and choices. I'm so grateful for the organization of the church and the effort to make it a place where everyone feels welcome and cared about. We all work to together to become better people. Between the ages of 12 and 18 I went through times of being close to the church and having nothing to do with it. This was impart due to my family travels and my friend's travels. In the fall of my grade 12 year at school I started to think about the role that the church had played in my life as I grew up and I started to understand and realize its importance to me. I gained a strong testimony of it's truth and importance and my need for the church. It has been challenging at times, over coming obstacles, staying away from temptations, teaching my friends and family about the new life style I was living and earning their understanding and support.

How I live my faith

By standing up for what I believe, going to church, reading my scriptures, praying and following the commandments.
