Hi I'm Tami

I'm a graduate student studying Speech Language Pathology. I am a mother of 4 and a grandmother of 6, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy working with people and take pleasure in living my life. I believe everyone has potential and should be encouraged to achieve their greatest accomplishments. I am currently working in the public schools as a speech language technician while I complete my masters degree! I am the mother of 4 beautiful children, 2 girls and 2 boys! I have been blessed with 6 wonderful grandchildren with 2 more arriving soon! My favorite hobbies are reading, decorating my home, and baking bread with the assistance of KitchenAid. I never believed I would go back to school to earn my bacholors degree let alone my masters. I began school when my youngest child was in 6th grade and have thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I grew up in the Mormon culture, my family was not active in the church during most of my life. My husband was a significant influence in building my testimony in the Atonement of Jesus Christ and helping me to understand many of the principals of the gospel. Even though I grew up Mormon there was still a conversion process. In fact it may have been a slower process than many who find the gospel later in life. I heard many of the principles of the gospel, but did not understand how they could impact my life. The day I truly believed that I am a daughter of God and that He loves me was one of the best days of my life. To know that our Father in Heaven is only a prayer away, and that no matter what happens, he loves you is a wonderful realization. I also have learned that my Savior, Jesus Christ, understands everything that happens in my life. That He has experience with all of our feelings. This understanding helps me through the tough times, and makes me more grateful for the good times.

How I live my faith

The Visiting Teaching Program incorporates spiritual messages along with personal welfare into one entity. Women serve each other by going to the home of other women to express Christ's love for the woman, share a spiritual messages and check on the spiritual and temporal welfare of those they visit. I serve as a visiting teacher and also love having others come into my home and share their message. My husband and I currently serve as the advisors for the Single Adults over 30 years of age. This program is designed to provide opportunities for Singles to interact and support each other. We try to get together at least every other month to enjoy each others company, share spiritual and personal experiences and provide a support system for those who do not currently havethe support of a spouse. I also serve in the Temple. This calling allows me to assist others in performing proxy work for their ancestors that may not have had the opportunity to be baptized while they lived on the Earth. Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, told his deciples "If you love me, feed my sheep." The service I am able to provide to others is a way for me to show The Savior how much I love him and appreciate the gift of the atonement that he provided for each of us. Matthew 25: 45 "Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these ye did it not to me."
