Hi I'm Doug
I'm a physician, a teacher, a father, and an avid skier, and I'm a Mormon.
About Me
I am a husband and father with four wonderful children. I am a family physician and I teach medical students and residents in training. I love to ski and to travel, to do humanitarian work, and to spend time with my family.
Why I am a Mormon
I grew up in the Mormon church, and from childhood it has always been a part of my life. However, as an adult I continue to go to church because my family and I are so blessed by it. Every day we see the results of trying to live a Christ-like life in our own lives. Jesus Christ taught us how to love and to give service, not only to those who are close to us, but to others in our community as well. Trying to live according to his example as taught in the church helps me as a father, as a neighbor and part of a community, and in my professional life as well.
How I live my faith
Like many Christians, I pray, study the scriptures, and attend church regularly. I try to follow the example of Jesus Christ. The most imortant people in my life are my family, and I try to give them time and understanding. I work actively to serve and teach in the church. My church assignments have been as varied as big as organizing programs and activities for several hundred people, as challenging as taking a group of scouts on a campout, and as quiet as visiting an elderly widow and sharing a smile and and a laugh together. I have I have been blessed through my job to do volunteer work in places like Haiti, the Dominican Republic, Central America, and at in my own community at a homeless clinic. I am proud to be part of a church that gives and serves around the world, and in my own way I try to do the same.
