Hi I'm Briant

My life is full of purpose, opportunities, and blessings because I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have a really great life. I have a beautiful wife to whom I've been married for over two years. I really enjoy my job, working as a brand manager for a company that sells wellness-oriented products. I plan on going back to school to get my MBA in a few years. I enjoy exercising, playing sports, traveling, and serving in the Church and with the youth group.

Why I am a Mormon

I believe that I am a spirit child of my Heavenly Father. He wants me to know that He lives and loves me. He speaks to my spirit through the Holy Ghost when I choose to follow Him and His son, Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Throughout my life I've had to make choices. I've had to choose right versus wrong and I've had to test my Heavenly Father to know if His commandments are true. When I've obeyed him, I've felt the Holy Ghost speak to my spirit and witness to me that what I am doing is right and that God really does live and he has a plan of happiness for me. I am grateful that the Holy Ghost has testified to me of these simple truths. The Holy Ghost has also testified to me of other truths. I believe Jesus Christ is our Savior. He lived on Earth and set for us a perfect example and showed us the way to return to live with Him, our Heavenly Father, and our families forever. Jesus Christ atoned for our sins and died for us so that we will live again. Christ does live. He knows us and wants us to follow him. God has always taught His children his commandments and the way back to him through prophets. I believe in the prophets of the Old and New Testament, and I believe that God also spoke to His children through prophets who lived on the American continent. These teaching are found in the Book of Mormon, a sacred and true book that was revealed to and translated by Joseph Smith, a modern day prophet. We have living prophets and apostles to guide us today. Jesus Christ established His church when he was on the Earth, but due to the wickedness of the people who killed his prophets and apostles, the Church was taken away. But I believe it has been restored again, through the prophet Joseph Smith, with Christ's authority to teach and guide us back to our Heavenly Father. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, aka The Mormon Church, teaches these truths. I believe they are true because I have studied and pondered them, tried to live according to the will of God as best I can, and prayed to God to ask Him if they are true. He has revealed to me through the power of the Holy Ghost that they are. Our Heavenly Father, in his great mercy, makes it possible for all of His children to return to live with him and their families forever, if they are willing to join the true Church and keep His commandments. We can know all these truths through the power of the Holy Ghost.

How I live my faith

I live my faith daily. I study the scriptures and teaching of the prophets and apostles and try to follow them. I pray to God, individually and with my wife, each day to thank Him for many blessings and ask him for help and guidance in my life. I try to improve myself each day. I know I am not perfect, but little by little I can change and become more Christ-like. I have the privilege to serve others in my congregation. I currently work with and serve the Youth by planning and carrying out activities each week that teach them new skills and encourage them to become better people, but are fun and entertaining as well. I also visit families in my congregation on a regular basis to chat with them, share my testimony of faith, and assist them in any way I can. I try to be an example of Christ-like love and behavior at work, in my neighborhood, and in my community. I share my testimony of truths I know when I can. I know the power that example can have on others.

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

Briant
I served for two years as a Mormon missionary in the Spain, Madrid Mission. Wherever a Mormon missionary serves, he or she will teach the same things. In a series of discussions, they teach that God, our Heavenly Father, has a plan for us to live with Him again, because we really are His children. This plan involves accepting Jesus Christ as our Savior and following His commandments. While missionaries teach truths, principles, and commandments, the actual learning that what they are teaching is true comes when an investigator decides to begin reading the scriptures, particularly the Book of Mormon, to pray to know if what is being taught is true, and to live the teachings he or she is being taught. So when missionaries come over, you can expect them to want to get to know you as friends, teach some truths and principles (called a discussion or lesson), and challenge you to pray to ask God if their teachings are true. Currently there are over 50,000 Mormon missionaries serving in various parts of the world. These missionaries, like me, take two years out of their lives to accept a calling to serve somewhere in the world, live a life of obedience and hard work (and often ridicule), and teach what they know to be true. Keep in mind, they are paying for this experience, with money they have saved for a long time. These missionaries want to be there because their message is that important. What they are teaching is true. I invite you to welcome the Mormon missionaries into your home to hear this important message they are sharing. It is a message of peace, purpose, and hope. If you know any Mormons, they would love to have you come to their home and learn from the missionaries there. Show more Show less
