Hi I'm Loreen

I grew up in the Denver CO area and became an active Mormon when I was a teen

About Me

I am single and a mother to an only son. We live in Salt Lake City, Utah while he works on his education. I have been under employed ever since my graduation from college in 2007. I enjoy and do most things that are creative from photography and cooking to scrapbooking and gardening. I am a Libertarian, a night owl, and task oriented.

Why I am a Mormon

Fortunately, even though unseen, the Lord has had His hand is guiding me ever since I was young. My parents were baptized when I was very young. Later when I became of age a wonderful man drove way across town to make sure my baptism took place. Because my parents weren't active I too was not active, but as a teenager we moved into the same church area as the man who had baptized me 8 years earlier. I don't know that he had anything to do with activating me but as a teen the young people of the church started inviting me to activities. Soon I was doing everything from going to early morning seminary and attending Sunday meeting to the youth activities on Wed. night. Like most people I have had my ups & downs but I have always stayed within the fellowship of the church. My times of sitting on the edge have helped me to see that I am always happier, even in times of difficulty, when I follow the Saviors plan.

How I live my faith

When I was still young spiritually, I became friends with a girl at Brigham Young University, together we were assigned through church some girls to visit each month. One of these girls did not want to be our friend or spend any time with us. So we devised a plan to become her friend without her ever knowing us. As a pair, we found out things that were going on in her life from her roommates and then several times a week we would give her treats or leave her notes of encouragement. After several months of this the young girl wanted to get to know us. But, we felt the magic would be broken, so kept up with the same weekly plan and never met her. When the school semester ended she was dieing to meet us, but we never did introduce ourselves to her as her secret friends. This changed her life, but mine as well. I saw how unconditional love can make a drop of water into a refreshing rain. My current calling in the ward is as the Public Relations officer, I help with publicity of events, needs, and introductions. Currently I do indexing and arbitration on my home computer for the Family Search arm of the Church and as a Church Service Missionary at the beautiful Joseph Smith Memorial Building. This helps those who have an interest in genealogy. These interests of mine are also talents the Lords has blessed me with. I am so very glad to be able to give back to Him.
