Hi I'm Robert

I'm a college student, excited to take a two year break to serve a mission in Mexico. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy playing the guitar and basketball, or pretty much doing anything with the people I love. I especially like spending time with my twelve siblings and my nephews and nieces. I am an undeclared college student, and don't know yet where I want to go professionally. But I know what is most important. And that is why I have put education on hold and accepted a call to serve as a missionary.

Why I am a Mormon

I have many ancestors who sacrificed and suffered beyond what I can comprehend to come west to Utah in the early days of the church. I was born and raised by parents who love the Lord and believe firmly in the Restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. But that is not why I am a believing member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints today. God loves each one of us. I testify that this is true. He sent His son Jesus Christ to not only show us the way to return to live with them, but to also provide the way. He has suffered for all of our sins, pains and sorrows. He knows us all individually, and wants what is best for us. I continue to feel the sanctifying and strengthening power of the Atonement every time I repent and strive harder to live in harmony with the teachings and example of Jesus Christ. And so without a doubt I can say that He is our Savior and Redeemer, and He lives! Just as He did in Biblical times, God has a messenger on the earth today. The heavens are not closed, God continues to speak to His children individually through the Holy Ghost and collectively through His prophets. The authority and truth that existed with the apostles of the New Testament have been restored and continue on the earth today. Because of this we can know what we need to be doing now to enjoy the peace, hope, and joy that comes from living the gospel of Christ. But don't just take my word for it. Just as Joseph Smith did, I have taken the advice given by James in the New Testament and gone to the source; I have asked God for wisdom and knowledge about what is true, and he has answered my prayers through the Holy Ghost. And that's why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I am preparing to spend the next two years of my life as a missionary in Mexico

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Robert
Jesus Christ is our Savior, and He lives. He has performed an infinite Atonement for each and every one of God's children. Because of His sacrifice, we all have the oportunity to not only return to the presence of God after this life, but have peace, joy and happiness now. I have felt this influence more powerfully than I can describe. I know these things are true without a doubt. I feel a love for the people throughout the world. I pray I can be an instrument in the hands of God to help some soul feel the peace that I enjoy. This is my hope and joy, and the reason that I am on a mission. There is no greater work than inviting souls to come unto Christ. I am honored, humbled, and greatful for this oportunity that God has given me to serve. Show more Show less
