Hi I'm Paul

I am a Student, I am a Husband, and yes, I am a Mormon.

About Me

I have been happily married my Sweetheart for over a year now, and I am working to finish a Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Physiology. I enjoy many things, but mostly I enjoy fitness and the outdoors. I ride four-wheelers, I snowboard, I ride bikes, and I love running. I served a mission for two years to the Hispanic People of the U.S./Mexican Border and I love speaking Spanish, learning other languages, and experiencing new cultures. My wife and I plan to live and serve in a foreign country for part of our lives. A favorite phrase that I love and pretty well sums me up is "life is good".

Why I am a Mormon

I am a convert to Jesus Christ, yet I was born into this church; let me explain. I was born into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, but it took until my late teenage years for me to question my own beliefs, and then go to God for answers through prayer, study of the scriptures--especially the Book of Mormon-- and striving to observe all the commandments of God. The power of Jesus Christ's atonement has changed who I am; old habits, addictions, weaknesses, and doubts have left me, and now I am filled with peace, hope, and love for God and others. I bear my testimony that if you will come to God with a desire to serve Him, He will make you the happiest and best person you can ever be. I further testify that even if you have NO desire to do what is right--but you wish you did--He will change your very desires so that you WANT to do what is right. This church is the church which contains all of the truths of God, and His authority; these truths and this authority were restored by God through the prophet Joseph Smith. The Book of Mormon is evidence of this. You can know this is true if you will read the Book of Mormon and pray to Heavenly Father, asking Him whether these things are true. I testify that He will answer you if you pray sincerely and intend to follow whatever answer you receive. I have done this, and He did answer. That is why I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

How I live my faith

I love to serve others. Over the short expanse of my life I have served in the church as a sunday school teacher, a full-time missionary, a priesthood president, and a financial clerk. In the church it is each man and woman's privilege to visit and help other members of the church with whatever they need. This assignment is called "home teaching" for the men, and "visiting teaching" for the women, and I love having that responsibility as well. In the past I have served my community as a hospital Youth Volunteer, a Boy Scout, a Tae Kwon Do assistant instructor, and a residential habilitation aid. I plan to make my life a life full of service to others, mormons and all other religions alike; we are all beloved children of God, and that makes us brothers and sisters.

Is it true that Jesus appeared in North America after his crucifixion and resurrection according to the Book of Mormon?

Paul
God knows whether this event is true or not, and He wants you to know too. I know that if you study the Book of Mormon, and ask God if this event really did occur, then as Moroni promised in Moroni 10:3-5, then "he will manifest the truth of it unto you by the power of the Holy Ghost". You will feel a peaceful, happy, confirming feeling in your mind and in your heart; this feeling is a message from God that what you are asking is true. It may require days, weeks, or months of studying the Book of Mormon and asking, but that confirmation will come; that I promise you. Show more Show less
