Hi I'm Melissa

I am married to a NAVY guy who happens to be my high school sweetheart, we have two awesome kids and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mom to two young kids. I'm a NAVY wife. I enjoy scrapbooking, quilting, baking, cooking homemade meals for my family each night and going to the gym to keep my sanity. Before having children I worked at the U.S. Attorney's Office as a paralegal. I enjoyed that. Then I had our son and knew the most important thing I could do would be staying home with him. I love being a stay-at-home mom. I have wonderful parents and two sisters who are my best friends next to my husband.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised as a Mormon. I know that this is Jesus Christ's Church. We talk of Christ, we rejoice in Christ, we preach of Christ, we prophesy of Christ. I love this church and want to return to my Heavenly Father one day. I know the way to return to him is by following his commandments and that is what I try to do.

How I live my faith

I am in charge of the youth program in our church. I get to spend every Wednesday night with the youth having fun activities. We play games, make music videos, bake, eat, swim, and just have fun. I also get to spend time with them on Sundays during church. We have lessons on how we can live our lives better and how to return to our Heavenly Father.

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

Melissa
I am a Mormon woman and I think I'm pretty much like any other woman. I want what's best for my family. I enjoy socializing with other women. I run my kids to different activities like dance, basketball, karate and birthday parties.   Show more Show less

What is being a Mormon like?

Melissa
Being a member of the Mormon Church is like having an instant family wherever you go. Being a military family we move a lot. We never live near our families. It is such a blessing to know that wherever we move to we will have the church there to welcome us and help us with whatever we need. When my husband is deployed I know I have a whole congregation I can call on with whatever I need and they will be there to help me. Show more Show less
