Hi I'm Russ Josephson

I was born in Salt Lake City, raised in Indianapolis, educated & married in Chicago, and raised a family in Colorado.

About Me

My profession is writing deeply embedded software in the data storage industry, for products like disc drives, tape libraries, and drive controllers. Early in my career I worked on automated package machinery. In my spare time, I like listening to music or watching movies. I also like to get out and explore the outdoors by auto, hiking or cycling. I'm interested in conservative politics, astronomy and coin collecting. I'm a longtime listener of the Dr. Demento show. I like to listen to non-fiction audio books in the car. At home I like to read humor, fantasy and science fiction books. I have read most of Terry Pratchett's and Isaac Asimov's novels. I enjoy the classic comic strips B.C. and Peanuts.

Why I am a Mormon

l was raised in the LDS Church, but I have questioned whether it is the right way or not. I am still committed to the Church because I know that the Book of Mormon is a true book that came from God. Because of that, I believe that Jesus Christ is our Savior and Redeemer, and that He called Joseph Smith to restore his Church in these days. If I had never questioned it, my faith would probably be pretty weak by now.

How I live my faith

I like to read the scriptures and learn about the lives of the great prophets, apostles and saints. I enjoy teaching the gospel to little children, teenagers, and adults at Church. I am also a merit badge counsellor in the Boy Scouts for Citizenship in the Nation, Coin Collecting, and Music. I have also helped people to find jobs by helping them with resumes, networking, and interviewing.
