Hi I'm Kristin

I grew up in Utah. I'm a student and a dancer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love dance and just about any outdoor activity: hiking, camping, rock climbing, etc. I am currently going to college. I am the only girl in a family of six. I have a long list of countries I hope to visit, and so far my favorite places in the world are Chicago and Monterey, CA.

Why I am a Mormon

I've had a hobby my whole life of studying philosophy and various religions. It's been enjoyable for me because it's possible to find so many similarities and truths in almost any form of thought. However, this proved to be problematic for me as a teenager, because I discovered we can convince ourselves that just about anything is true. Everything seemed so relative to me. I thought that there must be solid, eternal truth-- otherwise there's almost no point to this life. When I studied more about the Plan of Salvation that God has for us, and God's eternal power given to human beings on the earth, I found a sense of solidity in life while still seeking to understand the beliefs and cultures of others. God intends us all to be different, but the plan He has for our happiness is the same for everyone.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to get to know people for who they are and trying to love them as Christ would. I enjoy learning about different points of view, so I like to discuss thoughts, feelings and beliefs with others, and help them understand what a loving, patient, kind Father we have in God. In order to better understand Him and His nature, I attend church weekly and pray and study the scriptures daily. I think that living any faith is a process of improvement, so though I mess up on a regular basis, I try every day to understand what God would have me learn from my mistakes.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Kristin
We believe that we have truth that needs to be shared with the entire world! I served as a Mormon missionary because I love this gospel and it has changed me. It's shown me who I want to be, where I want to go, and how to get there with the strength and grace of my Savior. Having this knowledge and joy, I feel that others should have that same joy, and know how they can improve their lives today as well as their eternities! I feel that it's like you were given the best treat you could imagine (for me that would be cheesecake), but you were given way more than you could ever eat on your own. Wouldn't you want to share it with others, rather than just let it sit in your fridge? In the New Testament we are taught that part of the gospel of Jesus Christ is that we share it with others. This is part of how we live our faith. Show more Show less
