Hi I'm Dallin

I am a higher education researcher. I am a westerner who loves living in the South. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi, I'm Dallin. You will usually find me with friends, watching a movie, and laughing and carrying on a fervent discussion about whatever we just watched. My work allows me to do research on programs and initiatives that colleges and universities have established to promote student success. I love what I do, which makes me something of a nerd. But, I wouldn't have it any other way. Family is important to me and I look forward to the day when I will have one of my own. Watch out, because my kids are going to be awesome!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family who were members of the church in an area where the majority of people in my hometown were as well. After some time, being as curious, critical, and stubborn as I am, I decided that I wanted to live life on my own terms. This required me to search for what I truly believed in, what I really valued. I read the Book of Mormon, I lived life away from the church, and I did some soul searching. Through a number of experiences over several years, I can finally say that I have received answers to my prayers. I know that Jesus Christ is my savior; He paid the ultimate price so that I could be cleansed from my sins and that I could have real peace in this life. God has touched my heart and enlightened my mind to let me know that the Book of Mormon and the Bible contain His words for us, His children. This knowledge and particularly its application have brought peace to my life and have centered me.

How I live my faith

My faith is very important to me. Through living the principles of the gospel, I find peace and satisfaction with my life. I currently serve in the leadership of the Sunday School. This has provided me the opportunity to work with the people who teach the gospel each week in church. It has also allowed me the chance to teach every once in a while, which I greatly enjoy. Putting my faith to work each week through involvement in the church through this responsibility has helped me focus my attention during my worship. In a very real sense, it has brought me closer to my God.
