Hi I'm Patty

I'm a wife, homeschooling mom of four, a swim coach and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the youngest of five children. My mom raised us all in the LDS Church and although my dad is not Mormon, he supported us attending our various meetings and activities. I have a wonderful husband that was baptized within a year of being married and is my best friend. We have had four beautiful children two boys and two girls. Our oldest daughter was born with severe birth defects and died shortly before her second birthday. Our younger daughter was born with her own medical challenges, but is an amazing young lady that continues to do more than anyone ever thought she would. We have also been fortunate enough to have had several kids come in to our lives over the years that are also part of our family! We own a swim team and through that team have taught hundreds of kids not only how to swim, but how to be better young people. I love working with kids, whether they are my own biological, the kids at church or the kids on my swim team, they are all wonderful.

Why I am a Mormon

Being Mormon gives me the perspective to know that my family will be together forever, not just 'til death to us part, but FOREVER! That gives me a happiness that goes beyond simple explanation. When our daughter died, I found great comfort in the knowledge that I will be with her again, get to know her, and be a family forever. Although I miss her now, the thought that this is a temporary separation, makes not seeing her daily right now, a little easier. I'm a Mormon because I believe that our Heavenly Father is a God of love and happiness. That He has not only sent us to Earth to learn and experience pain, but to find joy and happiness along the way as we go through this life.

How I live my faith

I live my faith not only be volunteering at church, which right now I get to work with our Women's group, but my sharing the love that I feel from our Father in Heaven with those that I come in contact with. I try to make every choice each day with the thought of how to show people that they are loved and can be happy not only for this minute or day, but for eternity. I strive to help each person that I come in contact with to know that they too are loved and can have the same happiness and peace that I know to be a gift from Heavenly Father.
