Hi I'm Kay

I'm a Mormon. I grew up as a Protestant, but joined The LDS Church at age 25.

About Me

Hi, my name is Kay. My husband, Jim, and I were sealed in one of the temples, and we have 11 children, 33 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. I retired from the Federal Government over 10 years ago. I play the piano, love to ballroom dance, but mostly square dance now, like to play strategy games and occasionally go bowling. I like outdoor activates with my sweetheart, such as riding our bicycles and swimming. My husband has a Master's degree and I was graduated from Blue Ridge Community and Technical College with an Associate of Arts, Liberal Arts Degree in May 2015. Healthy foods are a must in our house. Spending time with the grand kids is most delightful. I am a country girl and love all the things that country girls enjoy.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1970. At that time, I was searching for more light and truth. I was a member of the United Methodist Church, but the minister could not answer my questions. About that time, the missionaries came by my home and I took the discussions. As I prayed about it, the answer came to me by the Holy Spirit that it is true. Joining The Church was the best decision I ever made in my life. It has brought me great peace and comfort.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by attending church services, reading from the scriptures with my husband every day and praying several times a day. I also give comfort to those in need. Helping others is a blessing that the Lord has taught us by His example. My husband and I do genealogy work at the temple as often as possible. I also take meals to those who are sick and visit my assigned sisters in The Church. I enjoy studying the history of The Church and improving my mind by reading other uplifting books. I am a loving wife and mother to all our children even though they are grown and have left home.
