Hi I'm Emily

I grew up in Nebraska. I am a runner. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Nebraska, but now I live in Utah. The Midwest will always be my home, but I am in love with the mountains! I'm almost done with nursing school. (Woo hoo!) I want to be a pediatric nurse. I'm married to the love of my life and we love to do things together like playing games, swimming, skiing, mountain biking, camping, and running.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I could not live without my relationship with God. My Heavenly Father is not a stranger to me. All my life I have been taught that I am a child of God. I know he knows everything about me and understands how I feel through all my adventures in life. He knows my struggles as well as my joys. Because of the gospel of Jesus Christ, I understand that God has a plan for me. He is directing my life. I know that I am not alone in life and I never will be. I know who God is. He is my Father and friend. I feel His presence and His love for me everyday. If I weren't a Mormon, I wouldn't know God like I do. And now that I have truth and peace in my life, I could never turn my back from it. I would know that if I ever left the church I would be wrong. I know this is where God wants me to be. I know the answers to questions like where did I come from, why am I here, and where am I going? I know my Heavenly Father and I know that I am His divine daughter. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I participate in the Mormon community by visiting teaching other women who attend my ward. I go to their home once a month and talk about what's going on in life and leave them with a spiritual message. In my ward, I also help organize monthly activities for the women such as sports nights, cooking groups, and service projects. I go to the temple a few times a month with my husband where we renew spiritual covenants we have made with Heavenly Father. We also attend church on Sundays. In our home, we pray to God as a couple everyday and read scriptures together. On Monday nights we have Family Home Evening where we discuss gospel topics and spend time together as a family.

What is faith?

Emily
Faith comes from a desire to believe and a hope that there is a God. Faith is putting trust in God continually. It is a strong conviction that you are willing to act on. Faith in God requires action. It is not enough to only believe there is a God, faith is complete when we act on that belief. Faith is kind of like knowing the sun will rise each day. Not only do you believe it will happen, but you plan your life accordingly. Faith brings peace and is an anchor to the soul. Show more Show less
