Hi I'm Michael Musgrove

I grew up in south Georgia. I enjoy the outdoors. I run a family business selling tractors. And, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hey there! I'm a happy 33 year old husband and father that lives in southeast Georgia. I run a family owned, industrial supply company that we started in 2013. I served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from December 1999 to January 2002 in California. After 11 months of returning home I met my best friend, and she and I were married/sealed for time and all eternity in the Orlando Florida Temple of the Church. We now have 6 amazing children; four boys and two girls. I am our church's seminary teacher for the high school aged youth for the Waycross, GA area. Short of the occasional hunting, fishing or golf trip, most of my time is divided between being with my family, work, and serving in the church. Nothing brings me greater happiness in this life than my family, and having the true gospel in our lives that lets us know (among other things) that we are an eternal family.

Why I am a Mormon

Because it's true. I know that sounds too simple, but why complicate it? I was taught the gospel, I sincerely and searchingly prayed about it, and the Holy Ghost bore an inexcusable, powerful witness (and continues to) that it was and is all true. Another important part of the equation is that our Father in Heaven continues to bless me with a desire to act on the promptings I receive. I am eternally thankful for that. I know that He will continue to do that as long as I have faith in Him, go to Him in sincere prayer, and put forth the effort with honest endeavor.

How I live my faith

Well, I'm not perfect at it, but I try to live my faith by following the wonderful examples I am given. The scriptures are full of men and women who have lived throughout the ages that, if emulated will draw us closer to God. There are also many people in my life that are living examples. The perfect example, of course, is our Savior, Jesus Christ. I believe that if I do what I am supposed to do-and, that comes to me from the leaders of the church, the scriptures, and promptings from the Holy Ghost-then I am living my faith.

Who was Joseph Smith?

Michael Musgrove
First of all... Joseph Smith was human. He was a man. Actually, he was a 14 year old boy when he experienced the miraculous visit of God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ. But, because the Lord chose him, he became a wonderful Prophet of the Lord. Through him, the Lord restored what had been lost through the ages since not long after Christ's crucifixion; the true Gospel of Jesus Christ as He had previously established it when He walked the earth. Through the Prophet Joseph Smith the Lord gave us more scripture that was translated by the power of God from ancient writings found on gold plates. We do not worship any prophet of the church. We worship the Lord. However, Joseph Smith was and will forever be remembered as the prophet of the restoration, and will always be revered and loved by those who know him. Show more Show less

Why do you have 12 Apostles? They were just meant to be around for the time of Jesus Christ, not to be replaced with new apostles.

Michael Musgrove
Because that's the way the Lord intended it. He instructs us to organize the church this way. That's the way He organizes it. Where does anyone learn that the Apostles were only meant for Jesus Christ's time, not to be replaced? One of the major purposes of calling the Apostles was to have them lead the church in the Savior's absence. They held the necessary priesthood authority given to them by the Savior by the laying on of hands that authorized them to lead the church and perform necessary saving ordinances such as baptism. This also authorized them to ordain others in the same manner, as was done and is evidenced in the New Testament. We know through latter day revelation from modern Prophets and Apostles, and personal witnesses of it's truthfulness from promptings of the Holy Ghost, that eventually all of the Apostles around the time of Christ were killed/martyred, making a divine restoration of the gospel, including it's priesthood authority necessary.
