Hi I'm Jason

I have been married for a few years. I have just accepted a new job and will be moving across the country. And I am a Mormon!

About Me

I grew up shooting competitive pistol events. I placed pretty well for a junior shooter and got to go across the nation for competitions and meet Olympic medalists. I have been range officer several times for national and international competitions including inter-service military competitions and World Cups. I enjoy playing and watching hockey. I am a licensed ham radio operator. I am studying preparing for the CPA exam and excited for my new job. My wife and I knew each other in high school and have been married for 4 years.

Why I am a Mormon

I love this church. There is no other place that can compare with the rich teachings we can learn each Sunday at church. I have studied the scriptures and love to compare the Church of Jesus Christ today to the church He established so long ago, and the way He led people even before his mortal life. I know that His church is on the earth today. I know it by the answers that have been given to me. I have sought learning and knowledge of Him and He has helped me recognize truth. I don't profess to know all things, but I know that we are loved by an infinite being and I love him. I know that He wants us to learn and grow, and He sends us prophets to help us along the way. We are truly blessed of Him.

How I live my faith

I think the most important part of making faith a part of my life is daily scripture study. I study every morning and let the things I study influence my thoughts throughout the day. Lately I have been studying charity and selfless service. I go through my day seeking opportunities to share Christlike charity and give service. The more we serve, the more we will be blessed with opportunities to serve and resources with which to serve.

How does the Church finance its operations?

Jason
Most of the members pay tithing, a donation of 10 percent of one's income, to help the church grow. This helps build buildings, maintain grounds, support activities, and many other necessary functions. I love this church because I know that none of the members of the church themselves receive any of this money. Even the leaders of the church are volunteers and never receive a dime for all of their time and effort. Show more Show less
