Hi I'm Morgan

I'm an art director. An avid volleyball player. I've lived in Jerusalem. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Going through college and trying to choose a future career has been an ongoing challenge for me. But, over time I came to realize that I love being creative and learning about from the ideas of others. This helped me to choose advertising as a possible career path. With this choice I have come to notice and appreciate that we are all different in our pursuits and personalities, but we also can learn things from each other. I enjoy doing graphic design and advertising and hope to eventually use those skills to make the world a better place. There are many people out in the world that wish the world was easier to live in and I hope that in some small way, I can help make life a more joyful process for someone.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I grew up in a family that taught the values and beliefs of the LDS church, I never had a profound and undeniable moment where I came to know that everything I had learned was true—that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was God's true church on earth. This knowledge came gradually and imperceptibly as I acted on the principles of faith, honesty, and trust. There have been many times in my life when I have wondered why life is so difficult. If there is a God in Heaven who loves me, among billions of His many children, then why isn't life a little bit easier? But as I have pondered these questions and have searched my soul for answers, they have come in the smile of a friend, in the loving comment of a sibling, or in a simple feeling of peace in my heart. God lives. I know this beyond a doubt. Life doesn't have to be so hard. God doesn't want it to be hard, but in order to humble and teachable, it sometimes takes less than favorable circumstances to push us to that end. I try to remember that even when life seems intolerable, which I personally have felt multiple times, He is close to me. He loves me and wants me to find that happiness that seems so elusive in this life. I know that this reassurance has come from the Holy Ghost to my heart, because it's at those times that I "just know" He is there. I know that any one of His children can come to this knowledge as well. His Son, Jesus Christ, is my Savior and Redeemer. He is the means by which I can become better and be happier. I am deeply grateful for this quiet yet undeniable knowledge that gives me a wider perspective about life.

How I live my faith

Because I love to sing and play the piano, I enjoy participating in making quality and uplifting music. I have had opportunities to sing and play for those in care facilities that wouldn't otherwise have the joy of music in their lives. I feel that I have been given deep understanding of the healing and uplifting power of music and I strive to share that with those that I meet. I often accompany congregational hymns in church meetings and enjoy using my talents to bless others lives. I also hope to use my skills of graphic design to create posters and uplifting messages that will impact people in their lives. It's easy to get caught up in things that have little importance at the mercy to those that are of great importance. I seek to find simple ways to remind people to focus on the real joys of life: family, friends, and faith. I hope that in this effort, I too will be reminded of what I have been given from God.

Who was Joseph Smith?

Morgan
Joseph Smith was a normal person like you or me, until God chose him to become a prophet in 1820. When only fourteen, he saw God the Father and Jesus Christ as separate and distinct individuals. They told him that the churches at the time were missing portions of the truth and that he needed to re-establish the church that Christ himself had set up when He was on the earth. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is that church and has been guided by prophets and apostles since Joseph Smith. Show more Show less
