Hi I'm Joel

I'm an iOS developer. I'm a proud husband and father. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love creating iPhone apps. I enjoy beautiful scenery, quiet moments, biking, camping, reading good sci-fi or fantasy, and even some good, loud, obnoxious music from time-to-time. I've been married for thirteen years and have adopted a daughter who is three years old. I love spending time with my wife, family, and good friends. I've lived my entire life in Canada. It is a beautiful place to live. I enjoy computer programming, and have even used my skills to develop the "Book of Mormon Golf" app for the iPhone/iPad.

Why I am a Mormon

There are several reasons, perhaps the most important of which is because I absolutely love the Book of Mormon. I love to start my day reading from its pages. I feel peace each time I read from it, and I feel that it gives me hope and a brighter perspective on life. I also love being a Mormon because I find that while trying to live this religion I am constantly being invited and challenged to become a better, nicer, and kinder person. And I have to say that I love the people of my church! They are encouraging to be around, and fun to work and serve with. And although I have many faults, I find that I am always quickly forgiven, and thus have found that I am able to forgive more easily.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to be more Christlike... although that is a daily struggle! What I find helps the most is to study the scriptures and life of Christ on a daily basis. I pray every day. I attend my church meetings. I try to be a better husband and father. Anyone who knows me recognizes how far I have yet to go, but instead of being too hard on myself I decide to continue to push forward in an effort to become better.
