Hi I'm Nick

I'm a Musician. I'm a College Student. I'm a Missionary. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm an 19 year old Missionary serving for the Chruch in the beautiful country of Colombia. Before my mission I attended school at Brigham Young University. I am a musician, and I love to sing as well as play the Piano, Guitar, Bass Guitar, and Drums. I love music, sports, friends, family, and the Gospel.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have known the Gospel is true ever since I was a little kid. Although I've grown up in the Church, I am more and more converted to the Gospel each and every day. I've felt the Spirit countless times in my life and it has testified to me of the reality of this Chruch. God has helped me so much in my life, and I know He continues to help me daily. Being on a Mission is the greatest experience I've ever had. I get to help bring others closer to Christ, and I get to feel the spirit all day, every day. I have the opportunity every day to bear my testimony of what I know to be true; and I get to speak Spanish everywhere I go, which is pretty cool too ;)

How I live my faith

I live my faith by attending church each sunday, saying prayers and reading scriptures every morning and every night. I love to spread the Gospel through music and by serving others. I choose to keep covenants I have made with God and I also choose to obey His commandments so I can be an effective tool in his hands and so that I may always have the Spirit to be with me.

What is the priesthood?

Nick
The priesthood is the power of God used through those worthy males who have been given the authority to help others. The priesthood can heal others of sickness, pain, and any other discomfort. It can put light and hope back into your life. The priesthood isn't like a super hero harnessing all the powers for himself. Its God's power, given to us at certain times to perform His will. We are the tools that work in His hands to fulfill His work. Show more Show less

What are Mormon Temples used for?

Nick
In the Temple we learn where we came from and what our purpose is here on Earth. We make sacred covenants with God to live a higher standard of life, and in return he promises to bless us with specific blessings that will not only bless us and our families in this life, but throughout Eternity. We perform ordinances for those who have died who are waiting to reunite with their Father in Heaven on the other side of the veil. Show more Show less

Are Mormons Christians?

Nick
Mormons are most definitely Christians. In fact, Mormons are probably the most Christ-centered religion on Earth. We believe things about Christ that many other religions have stopped believing or are unsure about. Show more Show less

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Nick
It is simple. One of the best ways to know if the church is true is to read the Book of Mormon with a desire to have your questions and prayers answered, with a desire to come closer to Christ. Then talk to you Heavenly Father, and ask Him if the Church is true. He will put an unmistakalbly sweet feeling into your heart which is given by the Holy Ghost, and through this feeling you will know of the truthfullness of the Gospel. I have tried this, and I know for a surety that it is true. Show more Show less

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

Nick
The two greatest ways I've found to increase my faith in Jesus Christ is by Scripture Study and Prayer. By reading the words of God, I begin to more fully understand the nature of God and when I pray, I find my relationship with God growing. I feel closer to God, and I feel so honored to know that I am a tool in his hands, doing His work. Show more Show less

Who was Joseph Smith?

Nick
Jospeh Smith was the first Prophet of our dispensation. A dispensation is a time where God restores all of the Priesthood keys to a Prophet who is able to lead and guide the church. Jospeh Smith lived at a time of religious excitement and he was confused about which religion to join. He read a simple verse in the Bible (James 1:5) that says "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God..." Joseph decided to pray to know which church was true, and while he was praying, Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ appered to him. They told him that none of the chruches were true, that the true doctrine of Christ had been so distorted since Christ died that the correct authority and doctrine had to be restored. Jospeh was then chosen to be a Prophet; just like Moses, Abraham, Adam, and Noah had been chosen before. I have grown to love the Prophet Jospeh Smith. When hearing stories about the loving, Christ-like, charitable man he was, my love for that man grows tremendously. There is no greater man to be chosen to be the first Prophet of our dispensation.
