Hi I'm Cory

I'm a hard-working family man, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm just a regular guy who loves the simple things in life. I'm currently working as a systems engineer and looking to start a masters degree. I love my family and spend as much time with them as possible. I also love the outdoors and spend as much time as I can fishing. I'm a no-nonsense kind of person who will give an honest and direct answer to any question.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a Mormon family and was raised in an actively Mormon home. Despite my upbringing, and while I've always had a strong belief in Jesus Christ, I've had some serious questions about Mormonism and what I believe to be true. I've done a lot of studying have learned much about many religions, not just Mormonism, in my quest for spiritual truth. I can't deny what I feel about Jesus Christ and his influence in my life; that's why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Currently I work with the youth in my local organization. I'm also actively involved in planning and participating in activities and church meetings that involve the local youth. We do everything from service projects for needy to playing sports and camping. In the past I acted as the chief financial clerk for our local congregation helping to budget the funds for all of the different needs of the church. You could also call me a family man. My family is the most important thing to me. Having a strong marriage and taking care of my family is foremost in my life. Generally I just try to be a good person and to help those around me no matter who they are or what their background is. While I may be a little rough around the edges at times, I strive to be a good Christian every day.

What is the role of the husband and the wife in the family?

Cory
A mom and dad are both indispensable to the family and each one has an important role in the lives of their children. In today's hectic world full of confusing messages, deceptive advertising, and changing morals, it's vital for children to have a home where they feel safe and where they know mom and dad will do their best to help them learn and grow. Why is self-reliance important to Mormons? Why do Mormons talk about emergency preparedness?

Cory
In generations past, a person would have been considered foolish not to prepare for hard times or unforeseen emergencies. We believe in the age-old principles of thrift, hard work, personal independence, and self respect. While at first it may seem that trying to prepare for hard times makes us paranoid or prone to worry, the opposite is true: preparing for emergencies brings great peace of mind. Knowing one's family can be warm and fed during any number of unforeseen events allows for much less worry in the tumultuous world we live in. Show more Show less
