Hi I'm Jenni Davis

I live in the state of Colorado and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I was raised in Colorado by a single mother of three. My father was killed in a plane accident while serving in the Naval Reserves when I was four years old, my brother was two and my sister just two months. After graduating from college in elementary education and then teaching elementary school for several years, I met and married my husband in 1983. We have four amazing children, and I feel very blessed to be their mother and a part of their lives. Now that they are all grown and on their own, I look forward to doing some of my favorite hobbies a little more. I like to sew, make memory books and enjoy the outdoors.

Why I am a Mormon

I love the fact that God has created such a beautiful world to live in and filled it with wonderful people everywhere! He has also given us so much to help us learn about Him and be able to find our way back to Him. Living the teachings of Jesus Christ helps me to realize I can choose to be happy and productive no matter what happens in my life.

How I live my faith

My husband and I have loved serving the children and youth in our city, in our congregation at church, in our schools and in our community. With four children involved in many different curricular and extracurricular activities, we have coached, taught and supported many of the activities offered in our schools and community. It has been a fantastic experience to be involved with individuals and families of our area in this way.

Why is self-reliance important to Mormons? Why do Mormons talk about emergency preparedness?

Jenni Davis
Self-reliance is being able to take care of ourselves and our families. If we can't do this we won't be very effective in helping others around us who are in need. There is a saying that you cannot lift someone in need until you are standing on higher ground. Show more Show less

What is being a Mormon like?

Jenni Davis
Being a member of the Mormon Church is lilke having a big happy family. I love my ward family! I know that if I need something I can ask anyone at church and they would be happy to help. The same is true of myself. I am so happy if someone from church trusts me enough to ask for my help and I love doing it. Right now I am watching my friend's 1-year old baby at no charge to help her be able to improve her employment. About twenty-five years ago, a very kind friend of mine, who has since passed away, did that for me and I am happy, in some way, to return the favor. Show more Show less
