Hi I'm Danny

I am an educational administrator, independent thinker, Russian speaker, connoisseur of Mexican food, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I live on the western slope of Colorado amidst mesa's and monuments. I have four children and a beautiful wife who is a fourth grade teacher of students in a low income neighborhood. I work in higher education where I use my talents in building relationships, promoting growth and advancing student diversity. I serve on two community non-profit boards, enjoy baseball, working around the house, and playing fetch with my Great Dane.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a multi-religious family. My dad was raised in the Catholic church and my mom was raised in the Mormon church or Church of Jesus Christ of Later-Day Saints. From a very young age I was very aware of the religious disparity in our home. Following the example of my mom and receiving encouragement from my dad I chose to become a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Later-Day Saints. That choice has made all the difference in my life. I have explored other faiths and various philosophies in the world. My foundation is based upon our Savior Jesus Christ and His atonement. I find solace and comfort in a chaotic world with Him and learn how to practice faith in Him. I stand as a witness that Jesus is the Christ and that He is the only way for us to gain eternal happiness. Being a Mormon is about finding happiness in this life and the life to come; that can only come through Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I have been active with the youth in my church for many years. They are an inspiration to me more than they probably know. I find myself participating in service projects in my community, caring for those in need and reaching out to those who are physically and/or spiritually afflicted. Most importantly I give all that I can to my own family. Whether its making lunches for my kids, getting up with the baby in the middle of the night so my wife can sleep or teaching my daughter how to ride her bike; I love spending time with my family. They have increased my faith and shown me the true meaning of selfless service.
