Hi I'm Martin

I was born in Iraq. I'm a Mormon. I love Christ!

About Me

I am a son of immigrant family that came from I Iraq; we left Iraq in 1982 and went to Spain. In Spain we were introduced to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We left Spain to head to America in 1986, I have lived in Michigan my entire time here in America. I am attending Graduate school. I have a brother, sister, mother, a niece, and 2 nephews who I love tremendously. I feel like Alma the younger that received a second chance and now wants to spread that happiness and joy with others!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church, however I was inactive a greater portion of my life, until 2 years ago when I was prompted by the Spirit to return to church and have found happiness and everlasting joy. I have found that the Book of Mormon is true word of God and is a second testimony of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I have found the happiness I had been searching for 27 years that that could not be replaced by worldly items as our Prophet Thomas S. Monson stated "Do material possessions make us happy and grateful? Perhaps momentarily. However, those things which provide deep and lasting happiness and gratitude are the things which money cannot buy: our families, the gospel, good friends, our health, our abilities, the love we receive from those around us." Regrettably I have let go of that iron rod once before, I will not make that mistake again.

How I live my faith

I am in the activities committee for the Young Single Adult Ward I attend. We plan out family home evenings, weekend activities, and Ward pot lucks. I make an emphasize to home teach every month and make sure every single member of the ward knows I am available for anything they need.

How is the Book of Mormon different from the Bible? How did Joseph Smith obtain the “golden plates” or Book of Mormon?

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

Martin
We increase our faith in Jesus Christ by learning of Him, His teachings, learning from His examples, following his commandments and then taking all of that of which we learned and start becoming a disciple of Jesus Christ. Show more Show less
