Hi I'm Laura!

I am a wife, a mother, a blogger, a food critic and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My husband and I have been married for a few years now. We were recently blessed with a daughter and keep pretty busy taking care of our baby. We love trying new things, especially food! When I'm not busy I am most likely cooking something, reading food blogs online or wring on my own!

Why I am a Mormon

I love the feeling I get when I do what is right. Living the gospel is so simple yet it brings such gratification. I know that if I just do what is right, I'll have eternal joy.

How I live my faith

Aside from attending church each Sunday, I live my faith daily. I start each day off with a private prayer. I ask for safety, guidance and help. If I run into a challenge or if I feel unsafe I say a quick little prayer and feel comfort. I find that singing or thinking of hymns also brings me peace as their words often remind me that everything will be ok. At the end of each day I read scriptures and say a prayer thanking Heavenly Father for the safety, peace and success I had that day. Doing these things constantly reminds me that I'm a child of God and remind me to do what is right.

What are some things that tell to you there is a God?

Laura!
This past weekend I went star gazing. As I looked through the telescope and saw Jupiter and four of it's moons I thought "that has to be God's doing. That can't just be a freak accident". Looking at all the stars, looking at the miracles of life here on earth and the beauty found in nature are testaments to me that there is a God. The detail it takes to make each living thing function is no accident. It takes a creator, a genius, a God to create all that is around us. Show more Show less

What is being a Mormon like?

Laura!
Being a member of this church gives me a sense of accomplishment. I know this church is true with every fiber of my being and living a clean life brings greater peace than anything else ever could. Being a Mormon enlightens my understanding of life. I know why I am here, I know what I need to do and I know where I'm going. If it weren't for the church I would be lost and I would probably wasting my time here on Earth. Show more Show less
