Hi I'm Jen

I love my family, traveling, Walt Disney World, and gardening. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm married and a mom to three boys. I am lucky to be a stay at home mom. One of my favorite places is Walt Disney World and I try to go there often with my family. I have become interested in gardening and growing fruit the past few years. I love the Gospel and I am truly happy when I keep the Lord's commandments. I enjoy being with my family and sharing activities with them. Some of my favorite things to do with my family are bike rides and vacations.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a practicing Mormon family but I have studied, prayed, searched and questioned to gain my own testimony. I feel deeply inside that the teachings and doctrines of the church are true. My testimony has come from many small experiences where I have felt the Holy Ghost confirm the truth of it to me. My testimony grows through exercising faith (studying scriptures, praying, keeping the commandments, etc.). I cannot pinpoint an exact time where 'I knew'. I feel like I have always known and it is constantly reaffirmed through different experiences. I believe that God lives and that prayers are answered. I believe there is a prophet of God on earth today. I know that when I live by the commandments that Jesus Christ has given, I am happy.

How I live my faith

My faith affects every aspect of my life. It gives me direction in being a righteous woman, daughter, sister, wife, mother, and friend. It's a guide for my personal conduct. It stretches me to be a better person- to serve others, be kinder, and prioritize according to what I believe the Lord would have me do. I pray daily and try to read my scriptures daily. I work on developing character traits. As a family, we hold a weekly Family Home Evening, which is a time where our family is together at home and we learn spiritual and secular truths and have fun together. I teach my children about God the Father and his Son, Jesus Christ. I teach my children to read from the scriptures and to pray.

What do Mormons believe is the purpose of life?

Jen
We believe the purpose of life is to prove that we will obey God's commandments, to gain a physical body, and to gain experiences that we may learn and develop to become like God. Show more Show less
