Hi I'm Gary

I'm a mormon. Grew up in Kansas, did a tour in Germany and am a convert to the church. Work in Law Enforcement.

About Me

I was born in California and grew up on a farm in Kansas and went to a small country school. Joined the Army in 1975 and spent some time in Germany. Married a German girl and brought her back to Kansas. We have three children. I work in Law Enforcement and will retire soon. That's me in a nutshell.

Why I am a Mormon

Many years ago when I was about 14 to 16 years of age, I was searching for something, I didn't realize at the time that I was searching for truth. I attended many churches with several of my friends but never felt any thing out of the ordinary at any of them. I wanted to feel the same witness that Moses and Abraham felt. It wasn't until my rather young first marriage into an inactive Mormon family that I first began to learn about the Mormons first hand. I had a couple of lessons by the missionaries and what they taught me for some reason stuck with me. I didn't realize that it was the Holy Ghost that was testifying to me that the words I had heard were true. The marriage ended up in divorce, which led to me joining the Army and doing a tour in Germany. There I met another Mormon that gave me a copy of the Book of Mormon, which I read and still believe to this day. As I read the words I felt something. It was good. Fate stepped in again and my friend was shipped back to the states and I lost contact with the church. But I was convinced that one day I would join this church. That day came after I returned to the states with my German bride and one child after nine years of living in Germany. It was 15 years from the time of my first contact with the church to my baptism. Most important decision of my life. I invite you to investigate the church for yourself, invite the missionaries into your home, be open minded and discover for yourself the truthfulness of the Gospel and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I leave you with my testimony that I know this church is true and that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and was chosen by God to restore his church back upon this earth. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

Currently I travel with some of the leaders of the church. We visit other cities that have LDS Churches in them in an effort to find out how they are doing and if we can offer any assistance. I have had other callings in the church throughout the years. I have learned much and know there is so much more to learn.
