Hi I'm Dave

I grew up in Colorado, served in the US Army, and now live in San Antonio. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a husband, father, son, brother, and friend. I love spending time with family, traveling, watching movies, going on walks autumn, college football, snow, and mountains.

Why I am a Mormon

I know that God lives- that He is our Father. I know that He loves us and for this reason He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to atone for the sins of mankind... that if we believe in Him and follow His teachings, we will be able to return to our Father in Heaven and be forever with our families. I know that the Bible is the word of God. I know God calls prophets to help guide his children. I know that Joseph Smith was called of God to be a prophet and that through Joseph the Lord brought forth scripture to strengthen the testimony of Him as found in the Bible. This companion scripture is the Book of Mormon. I know that the mantle of the prophets has been passed down unbroken from the time of Joseph Smith until today as we are led by President Thomas Monson. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints does not attempt to get inbetween man and God, but rather teaches that all of us are entitled to and should be striving for a direct connection between ourselves and our Father in Heaven. The Church helps us to double-check ourselves to make sure we're not losing our focus from what matters most in this life.

How I live my faith

I regulary visit with families in my congregation to make sure that they are doing okay, both sprititually and physically. I also teach the adult Sunday School class for my congregation.
