Hi I'm Christian

I was born in Logan, UT, I was a Marine, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a student. I am studying to become a Chaplain in the LDS faith in the United States Navy. I have just recently exited the employment of the Marine Corp active duty and am thankful for that experience in my life. I love music, art, and gospel study. I love learning and educating myself and others.

Why I am a Mormon

We are all sent here with a purpose, and with that purpose we earn a sense of urgency and want drawing us towards truth and understanding. Through religion we gain that understanding and sense of purpose. We build a foundation for our future here and are given council on how to get There, There being Heaven. I am a Mormon because of the truth that we have a Father in Heaven and He loves us dearly, and with us being children of a God who is in Heaven we are able to become like Him. Romans 8:14-17. Which tells us we have so much potential in this and the next life to come. The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints gives me strength to reach that potential and the guidance necessary to fulfill my role and mission in this life. This church is not the only church that has great knowledge in biblical scripture, but we do have the Book Of Mormon which is truth for us in our modern day, but we are the only church with the necessary restored ordinances, priesthood, and authority to return to our Father in Heavens presence. And that to me is comforting. I'm thankful for this Church that has given me so much, and teaches me of a loving Father and Savior.

How I live my faith

I attend church and my meetings, being FHE with the Singles Ward or activities through out the week. I do my best to be an example which helps me to be the best I can, and also helps to strengthen others. I am a Home Teacher and enjoy teaching others AT there home, where in is their own holy version of the Temple. I am thankful for those experiences.

Why is it important for us to take care of our bodies? Why are our bodies called temples of God in the Bible?

Christian
We must take care of our bodies for a few reasons. One, our bodies are gifts to us from our Heavenly Father. We show our respect for Him by taking care of the things that he gives us. This does not even limit to our bodies, but ALL our possessions. But further the point the second reason our bodies are the most important is because we are vessels to the Lord and Heavenly Father. Isaiah 52:11, Acts 9:15. If we pollute our bodies with drugs, alcohol, too much fattening foods, and destructive substances of all kinds we will not be able to feel His spirit and will NOT be able to receive the promptings and revelation needed to point us in the direction of His will. He needs us to do His work on this Earth, and if we can't hear Him or feel His presence we cannot receive his orders and commandments. Third, our bodies are a Temple. A Temple is a house of the Lord, a place where the Lord inhabits. We must be clean so that the Lord may inhabit our Temples. And that brings on further strength. Fourth, Heavenly Father and the Lord desires us to be a separate people from the world. He desires us to be a peculiar people that live lives according to His desires and not ours. We must separate ourselves and consecrate (dedicate) our lives to the Lord. Seemingly big or small commandments are commandments to teach our obedience and to separate us. Deuteronomy 26:18, Exodus 19:5, Titus 2:14. It's easier to listen, and it will in the end make us happier. Show more Show less

Is it true that Jesus appeared in North America after his crucifixion and resurrection according to the Book of Mormon?

Christian
It is indeed true that Jesus Christ appeared to the people in the Americas. Jesus Christ says in John 10:16 "And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd." In 3 Nephi Jesus Christ declares in his visit to them in the Americas, "And verily I say unto you, that ye are they of whom I said: Other sheep I have which are not of this fold..." Jesus Christ declares that his word was fulfilled and that the people he visited WERE them that were in the Americas. The people that were across the ocean that needed the truth further declared to them, and the new law of the Atonement be taught to them. We still receive revelation to this day, and we are still taught by the Lord and his Angels. We just need to listen. Show more Show less
